I believe photography is a form of meditation, especially when shooting in nature. Looking through my camera brings me to a place of stillness where time and space seem to stand still. I just get lost and immersed in beauty, wonder and awe, and my soul is happy. As a healer and photographer, my mission is to help people connect with nature, to see and feel differently, to get lost in this meditative art, appreciate the beauty in the outdoors and forget life’s stressors for awhile. And ultimately, to feel the healing benefits of nature and art.
Your photos need not be perfect: it’s all about the process of creating. It’s the heart part, not the art part. Photography can connect you to more healthy aspects of life and can help stir emotions like joy, passion, inspiration and awe, especially when outdoors observing the beauty of nature.
There is a wealth of research, articles and books that describe the restorative power of both nature and art to positively impact our physical, mental and spiritual health. Simply looking at photographs of nature has the same effect. I hope by viewing my images, you get a sense of peace, serenity and healing. I hope to spark your spirit and soothe your soul.
